Fast And Easy Meals With Ground Beef

Families on the go are always looking for fast and fun mealtimes. One of the most versatile meats is hamburger which in turn can make for fast and easy meals with ground beef. The options for favorite dishes and mouthwatering sandwiches is endless - choose the varieties that your family will enjoy the most.

One of the most simple dishes is tacos. Simply brown the hamburger and drain off excess fat. Add taco seasoning mix and warm. Heat up the tortillas or taco shells and dish the meat mixture inside. Add toppings of your choice which could include re-fried beans, cheeses, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, avocado, guacamole and sour cream. Make homemade Spanish rice to accompany this tasty meal.

The most popular food item made from this meat is hamburgers. They are served everywhere - fast food joints, restaurants, at backyard barbecues, and for children's and adult parties alike. Simply press the meat into a patty and grill or fry. Toppings are many and include tomatoes, cheeses, lettuce, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, bacon and more. Include traditional side dishes such as Jello, baked beans, fries, chips, potato salad or coleslaw. Other versions of this popular item are sliders and chopped steak.

Next to hamburgers, sloppy joes are an American favorite. So simple to make - just brown the meat, drain all the extra juices and add one half cup of ketchup, two tablespoons chopped onions, and about a teaspoon of chili powder. Simmer on the stove top for about ten minutes and then serve on your choice of white or wheat buns. For extra pizazz, add your favorite mustard, relish or cheeses for extra impact.

A spicy bowl of chili is perfect for cold, damp days. Brown the hamburger, drain off the juices, add chili powder to taste, a can of red kidney beans, a can of tomato soup and one fourth cup of finely diced onions. For the more hungry family members, add a small salad, cornbread or a sandwich to make the meal even more substantial.

Meatloaf is a comfort food that everyone loves. Make and serve it with homemade mashed potatoes and a colorful vegetable medley. It is so simple to assemble - mix one pound of lean, raw hamburger, one cup of sliced bread cubes, one egg, one packet of onion soup mix and three-fourths cup of ketchup together and bake at 375 degrees in a greased loaf pan for 45 minutes.

The type of hearty casseroles which can be made are too numerous to mention. One particularly quick and satisfying meal consists of only three ingredients. Prepare a box of macaroni and cheese according to directions. Add one pound of browned hamburger and one can of chili without beans. Heat thoroughly and serve for a chili-mac dish which will fill your family up for hours. Add hot rolls, a simple salad or a grilled cheese for those extra-hungry diners.

Assembling nourishing and tasty meals for your family need not be a daily chore or challenge. Use your imagination to create new and exciting dishes that they will ask for again and again. Hamburger has so many mealtime options that you can almost serve it every day of the week.
