Filtering Your Water

When traveling to a foreign country, one takes great care to make sure they will have access to clean water wherever they go. If they cannot, they will have to provide it for themselves or decide to not venture there at all. Filtering your water to make sure it is completely clean is not only important while traveling but whenever you consume it. Here are the different ways that you can do it.

Food security

In the United States, the public water system has an automatic filter on it. It is not the most efficient kind of filter but it isn't subsurface water and it is safe to drink. Depending on where you live the water in your public system may even have fluoride in it. As a free service, the places that offer this are concerned about the state and health of the community's teeth. Fluoride keeps teeth healthy and strong and although it is found in toothpaste, oftentimes an extra dose in our water is needed to prevent cavities.

Personal Wells

When you know that you are going to have a septic tank on your property, it is important that you are going to have it installed very well. When a septic tank is not installed well, groundwater contamination can be very precarious and very dangerous.

After your septic tank is installed well, you should also be sure that you are getting the tank checked on a consistent basis. You want to make sure that you understand that your septic tank will require consistent maintenance, so you can be sure that the septic tank is functioning well.

Despite the fact that the public water system in America does come with a filtration process, families often choose to have their sink tap filtered just in case. Or if you are an American living abroad you may want to put a sink tap filter on the water as your body is not adjusted to the same filtered water as other countries may be. These filtration processes can be expensive and complicated, requiring multiple filter changes every month.

Conclusion

Ultimately things will not change much unless Africa finds a way to reach the Subsurface Water Flow. This may seem easy in our more capitalist society, but in Africa there are all sorts of loopholes that people have to jump through when undergoing such extensive projects that could have a long term effect on the overall well-being of the country. While it may seem like a simple solution, there are many things that will play a role in Africa's future search for sustainable fresh water access.
