Fresno arrest records are basically those records that contain all the arrests made by Fresno police officers of a person, group or entity. Arrest records usually comprise of detailed information about the crime including the names of the suspect, type of crime committed, place and time. These records vary from mild to serious cases, examples of which include minor traffic altercations, DUI, to incidents of robbery and even murder.

For arrest record requests, a person requesting the report must show a valid identification to Fresno Record Division and indicate the case number of the arrest record(s) that they want. Arrest records access is restricted especially those that are under investigation, have a juvenile as suspect and are restricted by court order. For other arrest records that do not fall under those conditions, access is open. In case the person requesting the report is one of the arrested parties, a copy of the report will be forwarded to their attorney during the arraignment. Reports can be sent either by mail or through walk in.

For walk in requests, the Records Bureau public counter is open every day from 8am to 2pm. The person requesting the report should bring a valid identification such as government id or passport. One would also need to fill in a request form indicating their interest in the report and the case number. Effective August 1, 2013, criminal case records will be charged $.50 per page and $25 for a certified copy fee for out of state and federal government agencies. This fee adjustment will not apply to civil cases. All payments should be in US bank issued cheques, money order or by credit card. The office does not accept cash or personal checks.

For those who want to mail in their request, they may do so by sending a written request to the Office. The request should include the case number, the name of the person requesting as well as other information that would be helpful to the Office. Fees will be charged for reports longer than 10 pages. Each page would cost about $.20. The Office also requires a copy of the person's id. Personal criminal checks are restricted and cost about $30, which can be paid through money order or credit card.

For those who want access to arrest records, they can also go to Fresno County Sheriff's Office. The Records division is open during weekdays for walk-ins. The office also accepts mail requests. For those requesting the record, they should also include a copy of their valid id. Requests can be sent either through courier or standard mail. Processing for requests can take up to 10 business days. To ensure that the file that one wants to access is not restricted, consider calling the records division first.
