Young children from time to time may require to wear glasses as a short term solution to a small problem or may indeed require to wear them a bit longer. As a rule children don't like change they prefer to keep the same routine each day without any changes. This can be a bit difficult if your child requires to visit an optician for an eye test. Try before you go along to your visit to sit down and go over a few ground rules as to what may happen on their arrival.

Friends of your child who wear glasses can be a great help in relieving any doubts or stress when it comes to visiting the eye doctor. Ask your child's friend if they had fears or questions on their first visit as chances are they will be the same as your child's . You may not have thought about how important this is to your child. Check out all the opticians in your area and find one who is recommended and is friendly towards to children.

A few days before your visit sit down with your child and try and explain what may happen on your first visit to the opticians. Explain what may be required if they are given glasses to wear either on a temporary or permanent basis. A spare pair of glasses does not go a miss as one pair may be broken by accident leaving your child in a fix if they can't see without them.

Sit down with your child and a friend of your child's who wears glasses and find out all the information that you require to know before your visit. You never know the child may have different views and questions from yours which will come in handy when visiting the optician for the first time as you may not think to ask certain questions.

Sometimes people like to go natural and think of remedies for aliments rather than going to visit an eye specialist. Advice is always the same use the professionals especially where children are concerned.
