Various Tucson Irrigation Systems And Equipment

Irrigation is the application of water for agricultural use through artificial systems to supply water requirements. It is a vital process that aims at providing food to the populations in the world. There are many different irrigation techniques used worldwide. They include; center-pivot, drip, flood, furrow, gravity, rotation, sprinkler, travelling gun, supplemental, and surface method. In Tucson irrigation can be done using a number of methods as well as tools.

Center-pivot, for instance, is an automated sprinkler method that involves an automatically rotating the sprinkler pipe. Water is transferred to the sprinkler nozzles from the center point of the field to be irrigated. Water is usually delivered to the center of the system before sprinkling to the crops or land. In case of crop irrigation, the pipe is supported above the crop at fixed spacing and rotated by mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electric power on skids or wheels.

Drip method adopts a planned technique in which water is directly applied to the root zone of the crop. In the technique, water application is carried out with the aid of applicators like porous tubing, emitters, perforated pipes, and orifices, among other tools. Water is applied under low pressure and the applicators are stationed at either below or on the ground surface. Flood type requires large volume of water since water is applied all over the region to be irrigated.

Furrow technique is similar to flood method in that they require a lot of water for use, except that furrow allows partial flow of water through the dug rows. In gravity method, water is allowed to flow by the force of gravity. Rotation type on the other hand involves filling the irrigators with allotted water which is then delivered to the crops or field at certain intervals.

Given its dynamism, irrigation usually uses a number of tools for different purposes. While some of the tools are only designed for certain techniques, there are those that are common to general usage. The basic tools required to install a system include; a shovel, wire cutter, hacksaw, wrenches, and knife. However, there are also other special tools that can be used to make the installation much easier.

The tools also used include; trenching spade, round and square point blade shovels, tamper bar, landscape rake, broom, work gloves, PVC pipe cutter, latex gloves, measuring tape, pipe wrench, hacksaw, rise extractor, screw drivers, wire cutter, garden hose, sledge hammer, trench machine, and hose sweeper nozzle, among others. Most of them are used for both general and specific duties of maintenance and installation. For instance, the round point blade shovel can be used to bore holes.

Trenching spade is a specialty tool used to remove dirt from the bottom of trenches. A mattock on the other hand is used to dig short trenches and removing rocks. However, the tamper bar has a huge nail-like head used for compacting soil.

Landscape rakes are normally used for shaping the ground before planting. Just as the name suggests, PVC pipe cutter is used for cutting PVC pipes. Work and latex gloves are used to prevent blisters and keeping PVC cement from the hands, respectively. If living in Tucson irrigation tools like these can be found from the major stores in the region.
